The following questions are for those taking Teen & Adult Group Lessons or Clinics and who feel experienced and comfortable with the mountain environment. For those new to the sport, or who are still becoming accustomed to making a day out of a ski/snowboard trip to the mountains, please check out our First Timer FAQs for more relevant info.

Reservation, Check-In and Cancellations:

Q: Do I need to make a reservation for Teen and Adult Lessons or Daily Clinics?
Answer: Reservations are highly recommended on all days to guarantee a spot in a class and expedite the check-in process. If you are planning a trip on a weekend or during a holiday we advise reserving as much as a week in advance as space in our programs fills up frequently.  Reservations must be made online or by calling 206-812-7387 at least 48 hours prior to your visit and our cancellation policy (below) allows you to book ahead with confidence.

Q: How long will it take me to drive to Stevens Pass?
Answer: Driving time from downtown Seattle to Stevens Pass is two hours on bare roads and with no traffic. Drive time from Leavenworth is an hour. Adjust you departure times based on road and traffic conditions so that you arrive at Stevens Pass at least 90 minutes before your lesson begins. Check the Washington State DOT website (WSDOT) for current road conditions and here for directions.

Q: How early do I need to arrive at Stevens Pass to make my lesson start time?
You should arrive at the resort at least 90 minutes before your lesson start time to allow enough time to park, get your rental equipment and meet your lesson group. If you are using your own equipment, you should arrive at least 45 minutes before your lesson starts to check in, or to sign up for a lesson if you have not made a reservation.

Q: Where do I meet the lesson/clinic groups?
Answer: All Beginner Level Group Lessons meet right outside the Rental Tech Center. Clinics for levels Novice and above meet on the east side of the Ski and Snowboard School building. See the Stevens Pass Base Area Map for more detail. If you require rental equipment, visit the Rental Tech Center prior to checking-in for your lesson.

Q: What is the cancellation policy for reservations?

Changes or cancelations MUST be made 2 days prior to your reservation date or a $25 change/cancelation fee will be charged per participant and any refunds given will be issued on a Snodough gift card. Refunds will not be issued for changes or cancelations made after 7:30AM the day of your reservation.

  • Refunds are not given due to weather or road conditions
  • In the event of a full highway or mountain closure we will contact you to reschedule without charge
  • Refunds are not given for arriving late to your lesson or leaving early
  • For Learn-in-3 reservations, a $25 fee will be charged before your next booking for no-shows or all changes/cancelations within 2 days of your reservation date.

To cancel or change a Learn-in-3 or Clinic 3-Pack lesson more than 2 days out please login to your online account to manage your reservations. For all other cancellations or changes submit a cancelation/change request.

Q: What if I don't use all the days of my Learn-in-3 or Clinic 3-Pack?
Answer: Packages are non-transferable and non-refundable. Unused days expire at the end of the current winter season and cannot be rolled over to the following winter. If you are unsure about whether 3 days is the right commitment, start with a single day purchase, and upgrade afterwards. If you were unable to use all three days for medical reasons or a relocation, you may be eligible for reimbursement. Reimbursement applications must comply with the resort Reimbursement Policy. Reimbursement requests for unused packages will only be accepted until April 1, 2018. Reimbursements will be offered in the form of a SnoDough Gift Card. Refunds or credits will not be offered for partially used packages.

Ski/Snowboard Equipment Questions:

Q: Are helmets included with the lesson program packages?
Answer: Helmets are included as part of the rental equipment that comes with each day of the Learn-in-3 Guarantee Program. Helmets are not included as part of single day Group Lesson package or Clinics. Helmet rentals are available in the Stevens Pass Rental Tech Center for $12; request a helmet when you make your reservation.

Q: Do you offer Demo Equipment?
Answer: Yes, but not as part of our Group Lesson or Clinic packages. With the latest ski models from K2, Elan, Atomic, Blizzard, Nordica, Rossignol and Salomon, and snowboard models from Burton and Rossignol to choose from, you can find equipment that suits your skiing/riding style and the conditions of the day. Remember that demos are a great way to try before you buy

Q: Can I add Demo Equipment to my package?
Answer: To rent a demo ski/snowboard you will need to purchase the lesson/clinic separately from the rental. Demo equipment can be reserved over the phone by calling the Rental Tech Center directly at 206-812-7351.

Q: Where do I put my rented equipment while I take a break?
Answer: Put it in Gear Check! It is free to check skis and poles or snowboards that you rented from Stevens Pass. 

Q: I’m bringing my own equipment. Do you offer repair/maintenance services?
Answer: Yes! Taking care of your equipment optimizes its performance and extends its life. Our knowledgeable technicians at the Stevens Pass Care & Repair Center will help you to keep your gear in top notch condition as well as repair any base damage that may occur during use.
