2013 Open Season Rail Jam

The open season rail jam went down at the bottom of the Top Phlight Terrain park and left spectators and competitors satisfied. With a course that was big and burly it made competitors have to get their legs under them quickly even though its still early season.

The skiers got out of the gate first for their hour+ long jam session complete with high fives and hugs as it felt like the first day of school.

After all was said and done the results ended up as follows:

Skier PRO

  1. Clint Christian
  2. Ian Dahl
  3. Jamie Baril

Skier AM

  1. Peter Killroy
  2. Austin Burns
  3. Brad Kepanke

Grom Shoutout Award: Brandon Salvador

On the snowboard side, it was pure mayhem during their round. People flying over obstacles and generally going for broke. Right out of the gate, Ryan Paul had heads turning and everyone asking who the heck he was. Ryan recently moved to Seattle from our Southern California sister resort – Mtn High. Local rail aficionado Kevin Hansen stayed on par with Ryan though and also slayed every feature, nabbing 2nd place. Here’s the list of how the snowboarders ended up:

Snowboarder PRO

  1. Ryan Paul
  2. Kevin Hansen
  3. Petey Pierotti

Snowboarder AM

  1. Sam Croshy
  2. Kevin Grayson
  3. Justin Hawk

Grom Shoutout Award: Kaela Cole

As for the ladies, we saw some familiar Stevens faces going for the win. With a cash prize that matched the boys, it was easy to see them pushing each other. All of the gals that made the podium are regulars and have had lots of practice on the features. Though there was only a handful of ladies this year, we hope to see a big surge in the near future!

Snowboard Women

  1. Olivia Keterson
  2. Megan Middleton
  3. Kayla Kobelin

Big shoutout to Vitalire Clothing and Carter Subaru for the support and to all the riders who joined us on the first event of the season! Jib on!
