January is Learn to Ski and Ride Month!

Whether we will admit it or not, the people of Washington State love the rain. We love the pitter patter on the roof as we lay warm in bed, the excuse it gives us to take it easy and catch up on things around the house, the unmatched luxury of a dry pair of socks after stripping off wet ones. The rain reminds us to enjoy the simple things in life. It was the rain, after all, that led to the coffee and microbrew revolutions. That said, as that long stretch of grey winter days turns into a long stretch of grey weeks, even the hardiest Pacific Northwesterner tends to grow antsy.

January is National Learn to Ski and Snowboard Month, and if you are ready to change the way you, or a friend or loved one thinks about Washington's notoriously wet winters (hint: one inch of rain equals up to 12 inches of snow), now is the time to get up here to Stevens Pass Mountain Resort. Stevens Pass Ski and Snowboard School is offering the Coca-Cola Easy Starter Package for ages 13 and over, including a beginner lift ticket, a 2-hour lesson and rental equipment for the day for just $79. From there you can upgrade to the Easy 1-2-3 three-day multi-pack, which gives you a total of three days worth of lift tickets, rental equipment, and lessons for just $80 more.

Are you looking forward to the day when you and your kids can hit the slopes together? The Stevens Pass Ski and Snowboard School offers private and group lessons for children ages 3 and up for all ability levels. Kids Club is an opportunity for 3 to 6 year olds to learn in a group setting, giving you time to take your own lessons or just take some laps. Another option is to enroll them in 2-, 3-, or 5-hour regular private lessons for any age and ability level, or sign them up for the First Tracks Special: a 1-hour lesson from 9am to 10am designed to refresh their skills and warm them up for the day, as you nab first tracks on your favorite run. In any case, after the first lesson you will get $25 off each additional private lesson you enroll them in for the rest of the season. For older kids ages 7-12, you can choose between full day, half day, or multi day lesson, rental, and lift ticket packages (full days include a lunch), or private lessons.

To keep up the progression, we offer a Bumps and Jumps Camp (for intermediate and advanced skiers and riders ages 13 and up), a Freestyle Camp, focusing on skiing and riding in the terrain park (for intermediate skiers and riders ages 7 and up), and a Freeride Camp, for skiing and riding on the biggest lines at Stevens Pass (for advanced skiers and riders ages 13 and up).

For more details and special pricing, visit our lessons webpage. Reservations speed up the process and are recommended, and it is a good idea to arrive 90 minutes before your lesson to allow time for parking, equipment fitting, and check-in.
